Job Summary
Transport residents or patients to medical appointments, social activities, and other outings in a healthcare/long-term care setting. Assist passengers with boarding, mobility needs, and safe transfer using lifts or ramps; ensure passengers are secured with seat belts or restraints. Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and report maintenance needs. Adhere to state/local traffic laws and facility policies; coordinate transportation with staff and care plans; provide courteous, compassionate service and effective communication with residents and staff. Proficient in basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ensuring safety and compliance during transportation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on vehicle size
- Experience preferred in healthcare or long-term care driving
