Job Summary
Conduct field surveying, construction layout, and technical inspections while verifying levels, alignment, and elevation of installations. Perform material sampling and testing, maintain daily logs of construction activities, and document contractor work efforts for progress and final estimates. Observe work in progress to ensure procedures and materials conform to specifications, and assist senior inspectors with project tasks. Positions are based in the Raleigh area with a primary home office assignment, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. The role includes hands-on training, mentoring, and access to a company vehicle and cell phone reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Four (4+) years experience in construction inspection
- One (1+) year of which shall have been in roadway or bridge construction inspection
- AAS Civil Engineering Technology
- Two (2+) years experience
- At least one (1+) year roadway construction inspection experience
- Valid driver's license
- Approved/acceptable driving history
- Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course
- Submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form
- Minimum of 40 hours a week
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- QMS Roadway certification
- Concrete certification
- ABC Sampling certification
- Borrow Pit Sampling certification
- QMS Density certification
- ABC Density certification
- Conventional Density certification
- EC Level 2 certification
- DOT Intermediate MOT certification
