Job Summary
Transportation Support Specialist serves as district’s primary activity transportation driver and provides safe, reliable transportation for athletic events, field trips, and District-sponsored travel; also performs fleet support, vehicle maintenance, and facilities support; requires CDL path with training offered by district; high school diploma or GED required; must obtain CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, School Bus Certification, and DOT medical certification; flexible hours, evenings/weekends, and extended trips; physical labor and lifting; strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- Ability to obtain and maintain New Mexico School Bus Driver Certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Ability to pass background checks and drug/alcohol testing
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, overnight trips
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public
