Job Summary
Direct, plan, and coordinate daily operational activities of the Transportation Department, including routing, managing delivery activities, and overseeing associates through efficient equipment and manpower use. Review dispatch operations to identify training needs and recommend improvements for timely dispatch in transportation and warehouse settings. Analyze costs to control expenditures and maintain budgetary guidelines via weekly and monthly reports, while managing overtime to sustain standard production levels. Collaborate with HR on all personnel facets, including interviewing, hiring, training, terminations, and disciplinary issues regarding driver performance under DOT laws and company policies. Coordinate the assignment and maintenance of all tractors and trailers, ensuring compliance with DOT safety regulations and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Must be knowledgeable of all federal and state regulations as applicable to the DOT law
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent two-year college degree
- preferably in Food Service
- Class A CDL
