Job Summary
Oversee daily transportation operations by managing a team of Donation Pickup Drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and discipline. Plan and optimize driver routes, coordinate fleet maintenance, and conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance and efficiency. Support retail stores by managing donation pickup and delivery schedules while occasionally completing pickup routes as needed. Maintain adherence to all safety protocols and stay updated on policies through required training sessions. Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring flexibility to accommodate schedule changes and operate heavy machinery like box trucks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check
- Ability to operate a box truck in a safe and efficient manner
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations related to driving a large commercial vehicle
- Ability to work independently
- Flexibility in schedule to accommodate changes in pickup routes or schedules
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry it for short distances
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, climb, and bend for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, including box trucks and compactors
- Visual acuity to read road signs, maps, and operating instructions
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating truck controls and handling bags and boxes
- Strong back and abdominal muscles to maintain proper posture while operating equipment and lifting heavy objects
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Good hearing to detect warning signals and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment health screening and motor vehicles record check
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and busy environment

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of flexibility

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with systems overseeing routing, tracking, and the management of trailers and fleet maintenance
- Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
