Job Summary
Provide specialized wheelchair and stretcher van transportation, non-emergency ambulance assistance, and general client support for Valley Health's medical facilities. Ensure proper loading, securing, and transfer of all clients while following all regulatory guidelines and safety policies. Obtain accurate directions, meet scheduled pickup times, and maintain vehicle readiness and cleanliness. Communicate frequently with the Dispatch Center using approved tools and immediately report any issues delaying pickups. Collaborate with Division management, physicians, nurses, and staff regarding transportation operations. Complete daily and monthly vehicle checklists and report findings recommending repairs or replacement of safety equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certification
- Submit a periodic drug screening
- Trauma Informed Care Training
- Suicide and Crisis Intervention Training
- Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- First Aid
- Emergency Medical Vehicle Operator Certification (EMVO)
- Must be 18 years of age
- Maintain a driving record that is acceptable with the company's insurance carrier
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the use of adaptive equipment and wheelchair lift systems
- Providing care and support for older adults and individuals with disabilities
