Job Summary
Provide temporary relief to caregivers for youth in home or community settings while supporting client efforts toward treatment goals. Model and teach appropriate skills and behaviors using a trauma-focused approach, assisting youth with daily activities and engaging in crisis de-escalation as needed. Coordinate with family members to link them with mentors and present professionally in all interactions. Temporarily assist with transportation needs and travel to client homes. Maintain a safe environment by complying with restraint requirements and handling physical demands such as lifting 20 pounds independently. Work within The Village Network's trauma-informed models to support behavioral management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of experience working with youth
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Ability to use a computer
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance
- Ability to comply with The Village Network requirements for using restraints
- Sufficient strength for using restraints
- Completion of extensive training for using restraints
- Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time
- Ability to lift 20 pounds independently
- Ability to remain alert to problems, needs or emergencies that might arise on any shift
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels or personnel, internal and external to the company
- Travel to homes of clients/students
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field
