Job Summary
Coordinate Non-Emergency Medical and Non-Medical transportation for members, verifying eligibility, drop-off/pick-up locations, and medical information from providers. Resolve problems with transportation benefits, manage complaints, and file grievances or escalate issues as necessary. Route calls from the ACD phone line, generate administrative denial letters, and validate driver information for gas mileage reimbursements. Document all cases in the appropriate database and communicate immediate health issues to the Care Coordination team.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year experience in the medical/clerical field
- Experience in phone based customer service
- Excellent oral communication with problem solving skills
- General knowledge of managed care
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team structure
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective telephone and computer data entry skills
- Ability to access data and information using automated systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocol
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, physicians, and health care providers
- Must be able to lift, move, or carry objects of varying size, weighing up to 10 lbs
