Job Summary
Transportation Specialist provides safe, reliable, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and paratransit services for clients traveling to and from medical facilities. Operating under the Dispatch Center and Team Leader, this role transports ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher-bound clients, ensures proper loading and securing of passengers and mobility devices, adheres to safety guidelines, and communicates with internal/external stakeholders. Responsibilities include wheelchair/stretcher van transport, non-emergency ambulance assistance, loading/securing clients, meeting pickup times, vehicle readiness, and coordinating with management and medical staff; requires driving and certification compliance, plus completion of required trainings (EVOC, BLS/CPR, First Aid, EMVO) within specified timelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in use of adaptive equipment and wheelchair lift systems preferred
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- DOT equivalent physical examination and periodic drug screening required
- Trauma Informed Care Training required by 8/7/2027 for certain hires; CPR/BLS/First Aid/EMVO certifications within specified timelines
- EVOC training required by 8/6/2026 for certain hires; orientation-provided EVOC
- Emergency Medical Vehicle Operator Certification (EMVO) required by 6/7/2027 or within 12 months for hires after 6/7/2026
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must maintain driving record acceptable to company’s insurance carrier
- Other listed certifications (BLS, CPR, First Aid) within defined timelines
