Transportation Specialist

Job Summary
Create, coordinate, and complete shipments of goods between the company and vendors or customers. Verify freight loads against Purchase Orders and Sale Orders, schedule and track outbound freight, and ensure carriers meet tolerance and specification requirements. Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks as necessary, prepare packing lists, and assign loads to turret operators. Maintain accurate vendor routing guides, report inventory receipts into SAP and IFS, and communicate any errors to appropriate parties. Coordinate with QA for approvals, submit documentation of completed loads to customers, and review KPI scorecards with the Customer Supply Chain Manager. Work the 2:30pm–10:30pm Monday–Friday shift with mandatory 1st shift training, while maintaining Alene standards of performance, safety policies, and 5S-defined areas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- 2-4 years' experience in a logistics environment
- Strong knowledge of databases with substantive transactional experience
- Proficiency with MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Outlook, and Pivot Tables
- Strong work ethic, ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative environments
- Knowledge of inventory concepts, practices, and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must train on 1st shift
- Shift- 2:30pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday

- Detail oriented, ability to problem solve, and follow through
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Experience with seasonal business a plus
- Inventory Control experience
- Good Problem-Solving Skills
- IFS and SAP experience

- Use of some judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods /and or practices or to respond to changes in priorities
