Job Summary
Assist the Bus Driver in ensuring student safety and well-being during boarding, alighting, and transit; provide focused assistance to students with special needs and health issues; perform safety and emergency procedures as needed; operate wheelchair-related equipment and two-way radio; maintain First Aid/CPR and CPI certifications; participate in paid training; work a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week during the school year with potential for additional hours and summer work; starting salary $21.17 per hour (Grade 5).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Maintain CPI Certificate in a Verbal Intervention Group
- Ability to operate wheelchair knowledge: wheelchairs, wheelchair restraints, wheelchair lifts, and two-way radio within 1 week after hire
- Ability to read and comprehend basic reading and math
- Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
