Job Summary
Transport students and patrons to and from school, activity trips, and other events. Maintain safety and order on the buses and comply with state, local, and federal regulations and district policies. Able to acquire a Commercial Driver's License permit prior to the start of training. Training includes 3 weeks of paid instruction (6-8 hours per day). Guaranteed minimum 20 hours per week during the school year with potential for more hours and benefits. Requires strong oral and written communication, confidentiality, and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds; operating knowledge of large vehicles with air brakes; CPI Verbal Intervention certification; First Aid/CPR certification maintained during employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to acquire Commercial Driver's License Permit before hire
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Maintain current First Aid/CPR certification during course of employment
- Maintain CPI Certificate in a Verbal Intervention Group
- Operating knowledge of large vehicles with air brakes
- Ability to pass 3 weeks of paid training (6-8 hours per day)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
- Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Maintain motor vehicle record with no more than 4 points in last 3 years
