Job Summary
Public Information Officer for the City of Tucson's Department of Transportation and Mobility. Acts as the liaison between the department and the public, coordinating and disseminating information through press releases, social media, and official statements, and producing video, print, and graphic materials to raise awareness of transportation projects. Leads and mentors the Strategic Communications Division, assigns responsibilities, reviews communications for accuracy, conducts outreach to educate the public, and collaborates with journalists and media outlets to manage the organization’s public image. Requires a Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; offers direction on departmental duties and priorities; full-time in Tucson, AZ. Salary range $60,798–$91,208 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Four (4) years directly related experience
- Experience producing written material used for press releases, social media posts, and publications
- Experience working with mainstream media including being interviewed by video and print media
- Professional experience developing, publishing and distributing timely information through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
- Background check requirement
- Citizenship/immigration status awareness (no visa sponsorship)
