Transportation Project Engineer | Project Manager

Job Summary
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and drafters to deliver transportation infrastructure projects, including freeways, highways, roadways, and bridges. Coordinate with subconsultants, clients, and external agencies while providing direction on roadway geometrics, corridor modeling, and staging. Prepare comprehensive design and environmental reports, manage project financials and budgets, and assist with proposal and contract preparation. Participate in quality control and assurance processes to ensure successful project outcomes. Requires a PE license in Illinois, 7 to 12 years of experience with IDOT and Illinois Tollway, and proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
- 7 to 12 years of progressive experience in transportation design
- In-depth knowledge of Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
- Proficiency with MicroStation V8i SS10, OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition (CE), ProjectWise, AutoTURN, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with design teams, clients, and agencies
- Excellent decision-making abilities, flexibility, a commitment to quality, and keen attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- experience in Highway Roadway principles
- capability to serve as a Project Manager if needed
- proven experience managing both Phase I and Phase II transportation projects in Illinois
- experience with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
- experience with the Illinois Tollway
