Job Summary
Lead planning and design for state and local transportation infrastructure projects, including roadway alignments, drainage systems, stormwater management, and utility relocations. Coordinate with multiple disciplines, prepare contract documents, and manage client and project processes while utilizing Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation/InRoads. Compose technical reports and memos to support diverse project scopes across CDOT regions. Requires Colorado PE license, 5+ years of transportation engineering experience, and proficiency in ProjectWise and eConstruction Tools. Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within one year of date of hire
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering
- Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads
- Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff
- Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
- Strong capabilities in Civil 3D
- Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong capabilities in ProjectWise
- Strong capabilities in PMWeb
- Strong capabilities in eConstruction Tools
- Knowledge of CDOT Design Manuals and Specifications
- Ability to work across CDOT Regions
- 5+ years of leadership experience in the planning and design of state and local transportation infrastructure
- Experience with roadway design
