Job Summary
Operate a wheelchair-accessible shuttle vehicle to safely transport individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to and from ARC Voyagers' facilities and programs. Provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for every passenger while assisting with boarding, offboarding, and wheelchair accessibility equipment. Follow all traffic laws, complete vehicle inspections, and ensure adaptive equipment is properly secured. Complete route attendance, communicate transportation concerns, and document incidents or maintenance needs when necessary. Maintain American Red Cross first aid and CPR certification, hold a valid Ohio driver's license, and pass a background check and drug screen. Work a part-time split shift Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. earning $18.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 21+ with a high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Friendly, patient and dependable with strong communication skills
- Committed to providing safe, respectful and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working independently and managing daily routes efficiently
- Ability to assist passengers and operate wheelchair-accessible equipment safely
- Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks
- Maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification
- Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and insurability standards
- Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire
- Must pass a driver physical and drug screen
- Must be able to operate a wheel-chair accessible shuttle vehicle safely and efficiently
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience driving passengers or accessible vehicles is a plus
