Transportation Planning Specialist

Job Summary
Prepare trip generation estimates, roadway volume development, parking estimates, and analyses for team projects. Assist in analyzing field data, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan projects. Obtain, analyze, and interpret demographic and regional transportation planning data. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering, design, and planning documents, including transportation impact studies and traffic operational analyses. Collect field data and serve as project representative while adhering to job-specific quality system tasks. This role supports TPD's mission to improve public quality of life through transportation planning.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related fields
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Aptitude for detail-oriented work assignments
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with preparing traffic and parking studies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience utilizing any or all of the following: Synchro, SimTraffic, AutoCAD/MicroStation
