Job Summary
The Greater Nashville Regional Council is seeking mid- and senior-level transportation planners to lead various planning initiatives across the Nashville metropolitan area. Relevant qualifications include a master's degree and professional experience in transportation planning.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a state DOT, regional planning organization, transit agency, or local government setting
- At least two years of professional experience in transportation planning or engineering
- A master's degree in public policy, engineering, community and regional planning, or a related field
- A bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience may substitute for the master's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in transportation planning or engineering
- Working knowledge of federal metropolitan planning requirements
- Understanding of the relationship between transportation and social equity, housing, land use, economic development, and environmental sustainability
