Job Summary
Monitor transportation activities to achieve desired service levels and company goals while reducing costs. Ensure on-time and accurate planning for all outbound and inbound package movements, providing daily management of transportation operations. Develop and sustain carrier relationships by reviewing new carriers and rate competitiveness. Evaluate and implement continuous improvements on freight service and costs, developing operational metrics to report findings. Coordinate with production planning, sales, customer service, and terminals to achieve on-time service results. Become the key point of contact for SAP-TM responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain
- Minimum of 2 years Transportation experience focusing on carrier sourcing or operations
- Proficient in MS-Office and SAP
- Knowledge of transportation laws, freight tariffs, and distribution methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and identify trends
- High degree of integrity
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Industry experience in Automotive, Retail, Carrier, or 3PL
- Experience in LTL, TL, and Intermodal carriers
- Hazardous materials certification
