Transportation Planner

Job Summary
Confirm assigned region routes for scheduled departures and arrivals, then track in-transit trucks to maintain accurate daily ETAs. Resolve escalations regarding excessive detention and file exceptions while communicating delays to origin, destination, and hub teams. Monitor lane volumes and collaborate on capacity additions, subtractions, and re-routes, recommending new routes or departure times as needed. Procure additional trucks for unscheduled needs and manage weekend capacity planning. Build and maintain relationships with regional service providers through daily check-ins and weekly updates with inland offices. Analyze ad-hoc utilization and procurement costs, and track shipment-level on-time performance. Identify new dedicated needs by working with supervisors and the scheduling team to optimize line-haul network operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work in Phoenix, AZ Metro Area
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
- Fluency in written and spoken English language
- Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of logistics experience
- Customer Service and/or Sales Experience
- Procurement Experience
- Leadership Experience
