Transportation Planner Assistant (Temp)

Job Summary
Download data, assess orders, and tender loads to carriers in Smart Bench while scheduling pickups based on hourly capacity. Release loads to the Warehouse Management System, follow up with carriers and warehouses to maximize on-time arrivals, and secure same-day or next-day recovery for missed shipments. Relay reschedule requests and validate transit events such as accessorial charges. Draft and submit daily closing reports detailing missed pickups, recovery status, overdue orders, and clearing strategies. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 3-4 years of logistics customer service experience, and proficiency in MS Excel.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in data entry
- 3-4 years of customer service experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or procurement
- Able to work occasional overtime hours
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and team player
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize tasks during time-sensitive situations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred
- A degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is a plus
- Experience/knowledge with Supply Chain Management Systems (TMS, WMS preferred)
- MS Excel (intermediate or better preferred)
