Job Summary
Transportation Patient Engagement Specialist coordinates compassionate, patient-centered transportation and engagement activities. Responsibilities include transporting patients to designated facility areas efficiently and safely, following Dispatch Manager routing instructions, accompanying patients inside facilities to relay information to Reception and Dispatch, and providing comfort and support to patients and families. The role requires maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA, demonstrating excellent driving capabilities, de-escalation skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a care team. The position emphasizes advocacy, empathy, and high-quality customer service, with flexibility in work schedules and a readiness to respond on short notice in important moments in patients’ lives.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience
- 1-year prior experience working with Substance Abuse populations strongly preferred
- Crisis Intervention Training strongly preferred
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Clean driving record for at least 3 years
- Must be committed to a drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
- Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly preferred
