Job Summary
Transportation Officer responsible for conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, completing DVIR reports, ensuring proper transfer paperwork for inmates/detainees, maintaining custody and safety during transfers, reviewing inmate health and safety information in records, and complying with Federal, State, FMCSA, and DOT regulations. Requires driving facility vehicles safely, maintaining sanitation logs, modeling positive social behavior, coordinating with staff, and performing duties as assigned. Must be at least 23, hold a valid driver’s license with a clear MVR for 3 years, comply with DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, and maintain required state/federal licenses. Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, organizational ability, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clear MVR for three years
- Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse - DOT (required)
- Must maintain specific State and Federal licenses due to contractual agreements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
