Job Summary
Transportation Officer (CDL + PE) responsible for pre- and post-trip inspections, DVIR reporting, and safe transfer of inmates/detainees. Ensure paperwork for transfers complies with LCT policies; provide custody and security during transfers; interpret inmate health and safety information; enforce traffic laws and safety procedures; maintain vehicle sanitation and logs; promote positive social behavior; uphold safety and security of staff, inmates, and property; comply with Federal, State, FMCSA and DOT regulations. Requires CDL with Passenger endorsement, DOT/Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse compliance, MVR clear for 3 years, and at least 23 years old; position located in Raleigh, NC on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL with Passenger endorsement
- Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse DOT compliance
- MVR clear for 3 years
- Must be at least 23 years old
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team-oriented with good organizational skills
- Ability to perform/comply with pre/post-trip inspections and DVIRs
- Ability to transfer inmates/detainees between agencies
- Ability to review inmate health/safety records
- Ability to operate and safeguard transport vehicles safely
