Job Summary
Transport passengers to and from non-emergency medical appointments in company vehicles, ensuring safety, comfort, and on-time service; operate pre-trip and post-trip checks, assist passengers with entering/exiting, secure mobility devices, maintain confidentiality per HIPAA, and follow dispatch instructions using tablets/ MDTs; maintain logs, follow routes, and participate in training and safety meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not always required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (per company and insurance requirements)
- Previous professional driving, NEMT, paratransit, taxi, courier, or delivery experience preferred but not required
- Safe and responsible driving skills in all weather and traffic conditions
- Ability to read maps, follow GPS, and navigate the service area efficiently
- Good communication skills and a professional, courteous manner
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete basic paperwork/ electronic forms
- Basic smartphone/tablet/computer skills for dispatch and trip documentation
- Ability to assist passengers with limited mobility, including pushing wheelchairs and occasionally supporting passengers as they walk
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and secure mobility devices; may include lifting up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow schedules and instructions
- Patient, compassionate, and comfortable working with elderly, disabled, or medically fragile individuals
- Ability to frequently get in and out of the vehicle and assisting passengers at residences and medical facilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule: Work schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs
- Attend required training sessions, safety meetings, and performance reviews
