Job Summary
Lead the Transportation department with a safety-first mindset, ensuring injury-free operations for associates, customers, and the public. Oversee and develop drivers and clerical associates through one-on-one coaching, training, and performance discussions to drive efficient outbound shipments. Direct and supervise daily work, manage shift scheduling, and conduct routine safety meetings while investigating accidents and maintaining driver qualification files. Champion safety procedures, troubleshoot delivery problems, and implement cost-effective solutions to maintain zero-error accuracy. Build high-performing teams by participating in hiring and addressing performance gaps.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce
- High school diploma or GED
- Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures
- Strong leadership, communication and people development skills
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data
- Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office)

- Must spend portion of working time in a truck with drivers
- 10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training
