Job Summary
Transportation Manager leads a safety-first, people-focused Transportation department, coaching and developing drivers and clerical staff to achieve safe, on-time outbound shipments and cost-effective operations across distribution centers. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring drivers and transportation associates, ensuring policy and safety training, enforcing DOT and regulatory compliance, analyzing performance and financial data, scheduling shifts, and driving continuous process improvements to meet service targets and reduce waste. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, conducting regular safety meetings, and maintaining accurate driver qualification and incident records while aligning with company values and business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution required.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
