Job Summary
Lead the Transportation department by championing a safety-first culture and ensuring injury-free operations for associates, customers, and the public. Oversee and develop drivers and clerical associates through one-on-one coaching, training, and performance discussions to drive efficient outbound shipments. Direct and supervise workforce productivity, manage hiring, and resolve problems with deliveries while maintaining zero-error accuracy and DOT compliance. Schedule working shifts using planning tools and conduct routine safety meetings to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. May spend significant time on the road in trucks exposed to noise and vibration, with 10% travel required for meetings and training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce
- High school diploma or GED
- Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data
- Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office)
