Job Summary
Transportation Manager responsible for managing delivery and/or shuttle operations, reviewing routes and linehaul assignments, monitoring deliveries via Dispatch Track/Motive, and ensuring safety procedures are met. Travels to drop yards to meet contractors, provides visit recaps, and collaborates with independent contractors and store management to improve performance and morale. Requires expertise in logistics procedures, knowledge of DOT regulations, strong leadership and communication, and willingness to travel up to 25% across office, cross dock, warehouse, and yard environments. Required Qualifications
- Expertise in logistics management procedures and best practices
- Strong problem solving and leadership skills
- Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations
- Excellent understanding of safety policy and practices
- Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines and handle unusual workloads
- Ability to work in offices, cross dock, warehouse and/or yard
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels within organization, agencies and vendors
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must be computer literate including use of E-mail and Microsoft applications (Excel and Word); ability to learn new systems as needed
