Job Summary
Manage and provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the Lipari Foods private fleet, overseeing newly hired driver training for routes and night shuttles. Coordinate ongoing skills and safety training, ensure full compliance with Department of Transportation and federal regulations, and investigate accidents. Direct hiring, counseling, and rewards for staff while traveling to satellite depots for evaluations. Prioritize daily tasks, identify cost-savings, and implement maintenance solutions to improve service. Requires a CDL Class A license, minimum 2 years transportation management experience, and ability to travel regionally.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a combination of training and/or experience totaling at least 1 year
- Must have CDL Class A Driver's License
- Minimum of 2 years of transportation management experience
- A valid CDL Class A License
- Minimum of 1 year and 50,000 miles driving experience
- Minimum of 2 years transportation management experience
- Strong knowledge of DOT, state, and local compliance guidelines
- Excellent knowledge of safety best practices in relation to a large, multi-state transportation network
- Strong leadership competencies
- Above average verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to manage details
- MS Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Ability to travel regionally as needed
- Ability to support company growth by developing a cost efficient transportation network, strong leadership & multi-tasking capabilities
