Job Summary
Manage midsize driver teams and oversee freight movement, ensuring safe, timely service and DOT compliance. Build relationships with drivers and customers to minimize turnover while resolving service issues, routing exceptions, and mechanical problems as they arise. Conduct fleet operations analysis to measure key performance indicators, create financial reports, and recommend continuous improvements. Fill in for absent personnel, coordinate driver training and orientation, and handle administrative duties including payroll, accident reviews, and invoicing. Maintain yard equipment by inspecting assets, scheduling preventative maintenance, and coordinating repairs. Work flexible shifts including nights and weekends to satisfy demand and ensure operational success.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
- Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
- Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships
- Experience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery of commitments, open communication, and ongoing feedback/improvement
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Ability to consistently travel to account and customer locations
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
- Experience in holding people accountable and conducting difficult conversations
- Ability to perform in a stressful and high-pressure work environment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
