Job Summary
Manage the planning, development, and implementation of vendor, customer, and branch delivery shipments while supervising a team of 20 associates. Maintain the truck fleet in a safe, cost-effective manner by overseeing vehicle registration, permitting, inspections, and tax fees. Develop driver orientation and ongoing training programs, including regular safety meetings and monthly 1-2-1s. Direct accident investigations and coordinate with HR safety teams for unsafe conditions. Optimize truck efficiencies by managing fuel purchases and driver performance. Utilize Famous Logistics Systems (FLS) to plan routes for all branches, conduct root-cause analysis on performance gaps, and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor industry trends, ensure DOT and state compliance, and document associate issues regarding performance and teamwork. Cover shifts for routers as needed and provide after-hour emergency support.
Required Qualifications
- Routing experience
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Leadership experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability for after hour emergency support on an as needed basis via phone
- Thorough understanding of all DOT, Federal and State transportation regulations
- Understanding of the delivery planning process for all Famous Delivery branches using Famous Logistics Systems (FLS)
- Ability to route and cover shifts for 2 routers' if needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Omnitracs
- Forklift experience
- Building industry experience and requisite product knowledge
- Experience working managing a large fleet of Drivers on multiple shifts
