Job Summary
Transportation Manager responsible for overseeing daily fleet operations for Darling Ingredients. Supervises the Fleet Manager and Route Supervisor, coordinates transportation of raw materials and finished products, and manages all routes and driver scheduling to ensure DOT-compliant, efficient service. Involved in hiring, training, and safety orientation of drivers; monitors DOT logs and timecards; maintains and expands current accounts while pursuing new ones; delivers prompt, high-quality service to customers in the area. Requires leadership, organization, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions; strong emphasis on compliance, safety, and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes (driving routes, supervision of route drivers)
- Preferred: Valid CDL Class A driver's license with clean driving record
