Job Summary
Lead Transportation Supervisor role responsible for guiding a team of Supervisors, Drivers, and Clerical Support to meet operational targets. Focus on setting clear expectations, coaching and mentoring, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance (DOT & FMSCA), driving KPI performance, maintaining accountability, scheduling adequacy, and fostering a positive work environment. Key duties include coaching Supervisors, ensuring accurate business reporting, advancing continuous quality improvement, coordinating cross-functional teams, and managing shift coverage (including evenings, weekends, and holidays). Requires experience in transportation operations, supervisory leadership of sizable teams, familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (VoCollect, Dayforce/Ceridian, WIMS), and strong communication, project management, and safety culture skills.
Required Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of transportation-related experience
- Supervisory experience managing mid-to-large teams (5-10 salaried leaders and 45+ hourly associates)
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (VoCollect, Dayforce/Ceridian, WIMS)
- Ability to manage scheduling and coaching for a team
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance (DOT & FMSCA)
