Job Summary
Transportation Lead provides oversight, coordination, and operational support for transportation services within a federally contracted ICE short-term residential facility in Alexandria, LA. Responsibilities include coordinating daily transportation schedules, assigning staff to trips, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant movement of residents to medical appointments, court appearances, and other destinations within ~25 miles; serving as the primary on-site transportation contact in a 24-hour environment; coordinating with healthcare staff, security, and family services; ensuring vehicle operations, safety inspections, logs, and documentation; leading and mentoring transportation personnel; maintaining confidentiality and adhering to policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. Requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills, English proficiency (Spanish preferred), and ability to operate standard passenger vehicles without a CDL.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum three (3) years of professional driving, transportation, customer service, security, healthcare support, residential services, or related experience preferred
- Prior lead, supervisory, or coordinator experience
- Ability to safely operate passenger vans, SUVs, and other standard passenger vehicles
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a 24-hour operational environment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for documentation and coordination purposes
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances
- Ability to work in a 24-hour operational environment
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to sit, drive for extended periods and enter/exit vehicles frequently
