Transportation Engineer

Job Summary
Design complex transportation infrastructure projects focusing on roadway and highway elements, preparing and reviewing project reports, and planning transportation project plans and specifications. Perform detailed design, analysis, and engineering calculations for civil/transportation projects while communicating and scheduling work with the Survey Department. Conduct periodic on-site construction observations to ensure projects complete on schedule and within budgets. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 5-10+ years of experience, and an Iowa PE license. IADOT experience is preferred, with PowerGEOPAK and/or OpenRoads Designer skills desired. Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Iowa PE required
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
- Color vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to focus
Desired Qualifications
- PTOE not required but desired
- Experience with PowerGEOPAK and/or OpenRoads Designer preferred
- IADOT experience preferred
- MoDOT experience acceptable
