Transportation Engineer-in-Training

Job Summary
Assist in developing multiple construction plans for transportation projects under the supervision of a senior project engineer. Perform duties involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment, including engineering calculations, interpretation of drawings, and proposal preparation. Coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work. Develop engineering reports, quantities, and construction cost estimates. Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office tools while adhering to AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards. This role supports the Pittsburgh, PA office of KCI Technologies, Inc., an employee-owned engineering firm ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's Top 500 design firms list.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 Years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
- General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good communication and technical writing skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to maintain required certifications
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check
Desired Qualifications
- General Knowledge and/or experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards
- EIT certification
- Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field
