Job Summary
Transportation Engineer responsible for conducting a variety of transportation analyses and traffic impact studies, including traffic impact analysis, traffic signal warrant analysis, intersection design studies, safety studies, bicycle and pedestrian planning studies; perform field reviews, develop design traffic and existing/future traffic conditions, conduct capacity/LOS and corridor feasibility studies, execute operational analyses and traffic simulations, design and optimize signal timing, apply access management to improve corridor operations, perform historical crash reviews and advanced safety analyses, develop and evaluate multimodal alternatives, and prepare high-quality technical reports and project documentation; assist/lead traffic signal designs and concept plan development; contribute to business development, proposal writing, and client relations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree
- Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience
- Experience completing Traffic Impact Studies is required
- Professional Engineering License desired
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desired
- Familiarity with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic and SIDRA/RODEL traffic capacity analysis software
- Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil3D and possess ability to become proficient in each, desired
- Strong teammate, with the ability to work independently when required, cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with team
- Good time management ability, ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments - Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines
