Job Summary
Provide people with disabilities safe and reliable transportation to and from home and Rise's locations on morning and afternoon routes in Rise vans and buses. Help create a positive experience for riders by modeling appropriate interactions and setting personal boundaries. Operate vehicle lifts to transfer adults on and off vehicles, including securing individuals in wheelchairs. Use provided technology for rider check-ins, GPS routing, and maintaining compliance. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor basic systems while completing all required maintenance forms. This role includes daytime work hours only, with no evenings, weekends, or major holidays. Drivers must hold a valid license, pass background checks, and be willing to drive in rough weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must comply with and pass Department of Human Services background check (Rule 11)
- Applicants must have a valid driver license
- Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
- Reliable, dependable, and self-directed worker
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population
- Ability to work under pressure and react quickly and calmly in emergency situations
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
- Drivers must be willing to drive in rough weather conditions
- Must be available to work on short notice
- Drivers must be willing to drive a 14-passenger van
