Job Summary
Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments and approved destinations while operating wheelchair-accessible vans and shuttle buses in accordance with DOT regulations. Perform daily vehicle inspections, ensure proper resident securement, and assist with entry, exit, and wheelchair lift operation. Coordinate schedules with facility staff, prepare residents for appointments, and report condition changes or maintenance issues immediately. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and safety policies. This part-time role in Lakeland, FL, offers a competitive $18.00/hour rate with a supportive team environment at Wedgewood Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Clean driving record (MVR required)
- Ability to safely assist residents with mobility, transfers, and wheelchair securement
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed
- Florida Clearinghouse background screening
