Job Summary
Conduct daily vehicle inspections, confirm wheelchair lift and tie-down equipment functionality, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Escort members door-to-door in all weather conditions, providing safe on- and off-boarding assistance, transporting them to medical appointments, and running errands. Routinely exchange insights with coworkers to ensure best practices for accommodating unique needs during transport. Maintain vehicle information, including route, mileage, and fuel records, while reporting mechanical or safety concerns to the supervisor. Deliver information to family members as requested and comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory laws.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
- Able to push, pull, bend, turn, pivot, transfer and lift up to 50 pounds; able to routinely and repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding.
- Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) exam.
- Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing and any other state-specific requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working as a driver preferred but not required.
- Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
- Knowledge of local geographic area preferred.
