Job Summary
Design and analyze drainage systems for highways and roads using advanced hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare technical reports, design calculations, and construction documents while ensuring compliance with stormwater management regulations. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources for Design Bid Build and Progressive Design Build projects, providing mentorship to junior staff and representing the organization in client meetings. This role supports complex infrastructure initiatives like the I-84 & US-89 interchange conversion for UDOT within the west region.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience with design software including MicroStation and OpenRoads
- Familiar with MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project)
- Experience designing highway/roadway systems in UT, CO, NM, or AZ
- Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
- Experience with Business Development/Client Relations
- Work within hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary), and plan set production design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, Open Roads)
