Job Summary
Lead daily transportation operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and communication to ensure seamless service and meet customer demand. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and logistics personnel, providing clear direction to resolve challenges and maintain delivery schedules. Respond to requests for transportation services from customers, employees, or other sources. Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness while coordinating route planning, vehicle maintenance, and driver assignments. Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations and monitor metrics to identify areas for improvement. Mentor team members and build relationships with clients and vendors. Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with potential overtime. Reports to the Vice President of Operations at a family-owned ag-fertilizer company in El Dorado, Kansas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in transportation dispatching or logistics management dealing with Federal and State Department of Transportation laws and regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field
