Job Summary
Conduct traffic impact studies, operations analysis, and capacity evaluations to assess existing and proposed transportation systems. Utilize industry-standard software such as Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun for traffic modeling and design development. Assist in planning roadways, intersections, and transit systems as part of preliminary design and environmental assessment projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation solutions into larger projects and prepare technical reports and presentations. Perform field investigations including traffic counts, signal timings, and travel time studies.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or a related field with a focus on transportation engineering
- Strong interest in transportation engineering, planning, and design, demonstrated through coursework or related internships/academic projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with professionals from diverse disciplines
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree not required, but also considered an asset
- Familiarity with transportation software such as Synchro, VISSIM, or similar programs not required, but considered an asset
