Job Summary

Manage the financial performance of the department, including revenue, gross margin, EBIT/EBITDA, cash, invoicing, and working capital through budget preparation, delivery, and monitoring. Oversee the project portfolio regarding margin, EAC/ETC, risks, cash, claims, and variation orders, ensuring early identification of deviations and implementation of corrective actions. Ensure effective delivery of projects by assigning Project Managers or Directors with clear accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and client management. Lead portfolio reviews, recovery plans, and escalation of key contractual, financial, and technical risks while working with Finance, Legal, and Project Controls to protect the company's position. Drive business development, order intake, and client relationships by supporting pipeline management, strategic bids, and key pursuit plans in alignment with regional strategy. Build and manage the departmental organizational structure, setting objectives for direct reports including Project Directors and Team Leaders, while planning resources and addressing competency gaps. Collaborate with other Department Managers to optimize resource allocation across multidisciplinary projects and ensure technical excellence through cooperation with the CEE CTO. Report performance, risks, and corrective actions to the MD Romania and represent the department in relevant management forums.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in managing a business unit, project portfolio, large team or significant operational area
  • Experience in infrastructure, engineering, consulting, design, supervision, construction, transport, energy or a related sector
  • Practical understanding of project management, delivery, EAC / ETC, forecasts, margin, cash and project controls
  • Experience working with public clients or large institutional clients
  • Experience in managing people, organisational structure and accountability in a matrix organisation
  • Understanding of contracts, variation orders, claims, change management and contractual risks
  • Experience in business development, bidding, pipeline management or client relationships
  • English language skills sufficient to work in an international organisation
