Job Summary
The Transportation Correctional Officer is responsible for conducting vehicle inspections, ensuring the custody and transfer of detainees, and adhering to safety protocols. Key duties include maintaining paperwork related to inmate transfers, operating transportation vehicles while complying with traffic laws, maintaining vehicle sanitation, and promoting safety practices. Candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office. Physical requirements include prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to handle lifting duties. This full-time position offers competitive pay.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clear MVR for three (3) years
- Valid CDL with the Passenger (P) endorsement
- Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse - DOT compliance
- Maintaining specific State and Federal licenses due to contractual agreements
