Job Summary
Transportation Coordinator/Driver responsibilities include safely loading, transporting, and unloading patients to medical appointments and activity outings; performing pre-inspections; monitoring vehicle maintenance; making independent decisions when needed; adhering to Life Care standards and post-acute care regulations; maintaining patient rights, safety, and confidentiality; collaborating with an interdisciplinary team; and delivering excellent customer service while evacuated patients as needed. Position requires high school diploma and valid driver’s license/CDL with a satisfactory driving record; English proficiency; and ability to operate within Life Care’s policies and code of conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license or valid commercial driver’s license in current State, as applicable, with a satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards
- Prior experience in health care or geriatrics preferred
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to complete pre-inspections before use of vehicle
- Monitor regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.)
- Demonstrate independence in decision-making when circumstances warrant
- Knowledge of post-acute care facility laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures
- Proficient in patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- Follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Demonstrate integrity and Code of Conduct compliance
