Job Summary
Transportation Construction Inspectors (All levels) perform inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities projects in PA; responsibilities include writing daily progress reports, overseeing contractor work, conducting field tests on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, HMA), and documenting materials, labor compliance, safety, estimates, and work orders; communicate on-site activities and pay quantities to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting; requires familiarity with PennDOT specifications and various certifications; salary range $21.43-$36.82 per hour with annual bonus potential; full-time with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Recent graduates with Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or other related degrees will be considered
- 4+ years of heavy highway experience or 2+ years of transportation construction inspection experience will be considered
- 2+ years' experience in construction, civil engineering, project management, or materials inspection
- PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification
- NICET Level 2-4 in Transportation & Highway Construction
- OSHA 10 Hour Safety
- PennDOT NECEPT
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- PennDOT Flagger Training or equivalent
- Valid Drivers’ License
- Proficient in Site Manager, or other project management software
- Knowledgeable in PennDOT Road & Bridges specifications and standards
