Job Summary
Ensure compliance with contract documents, health and safety plans, and delivered materials. Check contractor layouts, verify accuracy, and prepare daily progress reports and periodic payment claims. Supervise a staff of inspectors as needed. React to hazardous warnings and signals while wearing required personal protective gear. Travel as required to perform duties across projects. Maintain progress schedules and records of quantities and costs. Perform manual labor infrequently and work in adverse weather conditions as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education
- Can read, write, and communicate in English
- Can do basic math computations for length, area, and volume
- BS Civil Engineering
- NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
- NECEPT Bituminous field certification
- ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
- PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
- ECMS experience
- OSHA 10-Hour certification
- Must be able to work in the United States to apply
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must wear required personal protective gear/equipment
- Must be able to react to hazardous warnings and signals
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to effectively communicate with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others
- Must be able to prepare daily progress reports
- Must be able to maintain progress schedules
- Must be able to check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations
- Must be able to keep records of quantities and cost of materials used
- Must be able to prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims
- Must be able to recommend payment
- Must be able to supervise a staff of inspectors
- Must be able to ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor
- Must be able to ensure compliance with the contractor's health and safety plan
- Must be able to check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents
- Must be able to check contractor's layout and verify accuracy
- Must be able to follow and convey instructions
- Must be able to utilize computers and common office equipment
- Must be able to travel as required
- Must be able to provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company
