Job Summary
Consult with contractors, engineers, and superintendents on plans, specifications, materials, and safety precautions for construction projects in the Greater Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. Verify contractor compliance with contract documents, health and safety plans, and delivered materials while checking layouts and shop drawings. Prepare daily progress reports, maintain schedules, record material quantities, and process periodic payment claims. Travel as required around the district to perform these duties, which may involve infrequent manual labor and adverse weather conditions. OSHA 10-Hour certification and relevant field technician certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education
- Can read, write, and communicate in English
- Can do basic math computations for length, area, and volume
- Must be able to work in the United States to apply
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to wear required personal protective gear/equipment
- Must be able to react to hazardous warnings and signals
- Must be able to travel as required around the Greater Scranton area
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Must be able to work with limited exposure to chemicals
Desired Qualifications
- Local candidates
- BS Civil Engineering
- NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
- NECEPT Bituminous field certification
- ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
- PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
- ECMS experience
- OSHA 10-Hour certification
